The Salvation Army Thrift Store in Woodstock stopped accepting donations on Saturday and it will close for good on July 30th.
WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Salvation Army Thrift Store on Huron Street is about to close for good.
The Community Ministries Coordinator Noel Sterne says it was a tough decision to make, but the doors will close for the final time on July 30th.
"After considerable evaluation of our operations, it's no longer feasible to keep the Thrift Store operating. The Salvation Army is redirecting its resources into areas of service while developing and expanding programs to meet the changing needs of the residents of Woodstock and area."
Sterne says all of the other Salvation Army services in Woodstock will continue.
"Our community and family services and the food bank will continue to operate as well as the church. The Salvation Army will still be live and active in the city of Woodstock."
The Thrift Store on Huron Street has been open for more than 20 years and it stopped accepting donations on Saturday. Sterne says they're currently having a 50 percent off sale to clear out their current stock.
The Thrift Stores in Norwich, Tillsonburg, and Ingersoll will continue to be open.
