The Santa Claus Parade will leave the Woodstock Fairgrounds at 2:00 p.m. this Sunday and it will head west on Dundas Street before turning right on Light Street and ending there.
WOODSTOCK - Santa Claus Parade weekend has arrived for the City of Woodstock!
Manager of Special Events Kristen Broadhagen says it will get underway at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday December 4th.
"The parade will leave the Woodstock Fairgrounds and go right down Dundas Street through our beautiful downtown. It will turn right onto Light Street and end there."
They have over 80 participants this year including bands, inflatables, and floats from community groups. Broadhagen says the parade should last about an hour or so.
This isn't the first time the City of Woodstock has hosted the Santa Claus Parade on a Sunday. The City decided to host it on a Sunday last year as well, after originally deciding to not host a parade at all due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Broadhagen says just because it's another Sunday parade this year, doesn't mean they will always host it on Sundays from now on.
"It was held on the Sunday so we just kind of replicated that for this year, but the date for next year is still up for discussion and we are possibly going to go back to that Saturday format."
