WOODSTOCK - City of Woodstock is looking to get more funding for the MHEART program.
MHEART stands for Mental Health Engagement Response Team and it pairs police officers with mental health professionals so they can provide better support to those who may be experiencing a mental health crisis.
Councillor Connie Lauder introduced the motion to submit the funding request to the province during yesterday's council meeting and it was passed unanimously.
During last year's Strategic Plan discussions, council identified the need to collaborate with community partners to address addictions, mental health and homelessness.
