City staff will put together a report, outlining how Woodstock could obtain more childcare spaces.
WOODSTOCK - Woodstock City Council is supporting the creation of more childcare spaces.
Councillor Kate Leatherbarrow put forward a motion Thursday night, asking her fellow council members to direct staff to put together a report.
It's going to outline ways the city could partner with local stakeholders to create more childcare spaces. It's also going to include zoning options and detail how existing and future municipal property could be used.
Three local childcare organizations presented delegations to council in support of this motion, which led to council voting unanimously in favour.
The report will be brought back to City Council by September.
You can read the full motion online here.
