Woodstock police made an arrest in connection with the incident on Springbank last week. Police reported that a 14 year-old girl was walking on Springbank by Chieftain last Wednesday when a cranberry coloured Ford Mustang pulled up beside her. The male driver held something up and said "bang bang" before fleeing the area. Monday morning around 8 am, police spotted a vehicle fitting the description speeding down Clarke Street and pulled it over. The officer spotted what appeared to be a handgun on the floor of the vehicle and arrested the driver. 18 year-old Alexander Matheson is now facing charges of assault with a weapon, possession of weapon dangerous to public peace, pointing a firearm, use of an imitation firearm while committing offence as well as traffic offences. He will appear in a Woodstock court to answer to the charges.
