The City of Woodstock will be applying to host a university satellite campus in 2017.
WOODSTOCK - The Mayor of Woodstock is still hopeful the City will be able to attract a University satellite campus.
Trevor Birtch says they plan on applying again in 2017 after they lost their bid for a University Satellite campus with the University of Ottawa. Birtch tells Heart FM, even though they lost that bid, a lot of positive things came from it.
"So we are still working on a bid for 2017 for a satellite campus, still looking forward to working very closely with Ottawa, we've also identified key partners that our helping us to create a focus cluster of sustainability for Oxford County that would include a research hub for renewable energy and an agriculture centre of excellence."
Birtch says they still have a lot of work to do to accomplish these goals and we need to keep promoting the City to anyone who will listen.
