WOODSTOCK - It was the first big lottery win for a local Woodstonian.
According to the OLG, Nora O'Bright won $1 million after she matched all seven ENCORE numbers in exact order in the March 19th, 2025 Lotto 6/49 Draw.
She didn't believe it at first.
"I reviewed my ticket a whole bunch of times. I couldn’t even tell you how many times I checked it."
But eventually, the excitement started to kick in for her
"I immediately started shaking and my heart was racing. I screamed, ‘This is crazy!’ It was one heck of a feeling. I told my family about my win, and they were just as shocked as I was. I had my brother pick me up to take my ticket to be validated because I couldn’t drive - my thoughts were all over the place!"
O'Bright a mother of one and she has been playing the lottery for years now.
She bought her golden ticket at the Southside Mini Mart on Henry Street and she has big plans for her winnings. She's planning on paying some bills, paying off her mortgage and buying new camping equipment.
