The Himes family got to open the front door of their new home Sunday. Brent and Diana along with their three children looked inside for the first time as members of the community joined them in celebrating Woodstock's first Habitat for Humanity home. Co-Chair of the Habitat Project Larry Moore helped make this dream a reality. "It was two years of a lot of effort, setting up committees, and organizing the community to be able to drop on their experience and ask for assistance to help build this home." Habitat for Humanity Oxford, Middlesex and Elgin's Chief Executive Officer Jeff Duncan says this build is about more than the house itself. "Habitat isn't just about a home going on a street that a family moves into. It's about a community coming together. You've got the entire business community, the faith community, and the media; everybody has come together in this community to help build this home." The project took a year and a half to complete. Many community partners and volunteers helped make this possible.
