Woodstock police are reporting a drop in the number of collisions and injuries for the first quarter of 2012. In January, February and March, police responded to 197 crashes on our city streets which represents a decrease of 16% from that same time period for 2011, when police recorded 235 collisions. Police say there has also been a 29% decline in reported injuries from those collisions. Police are going to continue to engage a variety of traffic enforcement initiatives through the year targeting distracted driving, speeding, proper use of seatbelts and child restraints, as well as driver compliance with traffic signals and stop signs. The report also highlighted fourteen intersections that have seen multiple collisions for the first quarter of 2012.
