WOODSTOCK - Applications for the Woodstock Police Services Youth In Policing Initiative are now open.
Applications are open to youth who live in Woodstock and are 15 to 18-years-old.
The program empowers young people to become ambassadors of positive change in the city. During the program they will work and mentorship in various sections of the WPS, developing a working relationship with a number of youth organizations in Woodstock.
The YIPI runs in partnership with the Ministry of Children and Community and Social Services program Youth Connect.
It is a paid student position that runs for 8 weeks. The start date is July 3rd.
To qualify for the student position, applicants must:
- Be between the ages of 15-18;
- Reside in the City of Woodstock;
- Be legally eligible to work in Canada;
- Be able to provide their own transportation to and from police headquarters (615 Dundas St.) each day;
- Be available to work the entire 8 weeks of the program with hours as designated.
