Zorra Township Reflects On 2017

Zorra Township is looking at the New Year as a new beginning.

ZORRA TOWNSHIP - Zorra Township faced two pretty big issues in 2017; and they will still be around in 2018

The environmental assessment is still underway for the proposed landfill, and the provincial government is considering a high speed rail line route that could cut through the area.

Mayor Margaret Lupton says they will fight the topics in the New Year, but she is not sure if that will be enough.

"We're large in land area but we're not that large in population and we even wonder if we have the resources to find either, let alone both of these issues."

On a lighter note; Lupton talks about a new green energy opportunity that will be taking place.

"We have both of our arenas due now to get solar panels on them. We're pleased to see this go ahead, this is a step in the right direction with the help of the ERTH Corporation."

The township also introduced new branding that will allow them to present themselves differently in the future.
