In under 5 years, Siemens Tillsonburg Wind Power facility has generated 1000 wind turbine blades.
TILLSONBURG - Siemen's Tillsonburg Wind Power facility has a reason to celebrate.
The facility produced its 1000th wind turbine blade, a huge milestone for the plant which started producing the blades back in 2010.
According to Siemens, 1000 wind turbine blades generate power to over 230,000 households in Ontario every year. Siemens Wind Power Manager of Strategy and Sales Greg Thrasher points out that it has taken a lot of hard work to reach this point.
All of Siemens Wind Turbine blades are produced at the Tillsonburg facility.
Siemens is also the largest employer in the town, employing close to 400 workers. Thrasher said the milestone is a proud moment for employer and employee, "it really is a proud day for Siemens it represents the hard work and dedication of nearly 400 workers and it took us nearly 4 years to get here."
