WOODSTOCK - A capital budget of almost $19 million has been passed in Woodstock City Council Chambers.
CAO David Creery says about $16.5 million of that will be used to preserve city assets in 2018.
"Primarily, the projects are all maintenance for assets that we currently own. There are some growth related projects so the community will see some park development going on in the area such as Halifax Park will be developed this year. But primarily the expenditures relate to maintenance."
Creery talks about some of the changes they made to the budget at their meeting in November.
"The biggest change is the shift of the Southside Pond clean out and the construction of a sediment forebay, which was proposed in 2018. It has been shifted out to 2022 at this point."
Council decided to delay that project because they would have had to use debt to fund it. The Southside Pond bridge replacement is still slated for this year.
