The guide contains up-to-date information on where you can give or get help this holiday season, offering food and clothing donations and season community events.
OXFORD COUNTY - The annual Holiday Sharing Guide for 2019 was released for Oxford County.
This year marks the ninth time it's been released and just the second time it's been made available online.
Executive Director for United Way Oxford Kelly Gilson says it's purpose is for people who need help this time of year, but for those who want to help others too.
"We want to make it as easy as possible for folks to be able to get the services that they need and there are some wonderful organizations across our communities that are doing great work.
United Way has collaborated with other community partners for the initiative, including Oxford County and 211 Ontario.
Gilson says they're thrilled to be working with other partners.
"It also is really important to connect people who want to help, who are interested in maybe making a donation, or maybe making a food donation."
The guide was released for this year and makes it easier to find up-to-date information on where to give and get help this holiday season. It offers a comprehensive list of gift and clothing drives, along with emergency help and seasonal community events.
She adds people can go here to see the actual Holiday Sharing Guide or they can call 211 Ontario by just dialing 211. And all of the information in the Guide is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The Guide can be viewed on a personal computer, tablet or mobile device and it can be printed from any device.
She says there's something for everyone.
"Through the Guide, they will see all kinds of wonderful, wonderful organizations providing a host of different services and opportunities. They can make a donation to those, they can hand pick or they can certainly make a donation to United Way as we work, again, to provide supports and services to people in our community."
