A tip from a resident in Norfolk County led to the recovery of over $30,000 worth of stolen property.
NORFOLK COUNTY - A large amount of stolen property has been recovered in Norfolk County. Police got a call on Monday from a resident saying they had discovered a trailer that had been previously reported stolen.
Officers went to the 2nd Concession Road address in Houghton and located the trailer, in addition they recovered $30,000 dollars in stolen property.
Following the discovery, 20 year old Johan Wiebe of Norfolk County was taken into custody without incident.
Wiebe is charged with the following offences:
- Two (2) counts of theft under $5,000
- Two (2) counts of possession property obtained by crime under $5,000
- Possession property obtained by crime over $5,000
He is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Simcoe at a later date.
