For the past 30 years, the Kids Help Phone has been available to kids in Canada.
WOODSTOCK - The Walk So Kids Can Talk is just around the corner.
The fundraiser for Kids Help Phone will take place on Sunday at College Avenue Secondary School. Manager of Community Fundraising, Sarah Lagrove says they are celebrating their 30th anniversary this year.
"So for 30 years, the Kids Help Phone has offered a critical lifeline of hope and support for young people in Canada. It is absolutely imperative that we be there for the next 30 years and we won't be able to do that without fundraising events like this. In 2018, we had 1.5 million touch points with young people across the country. Kids reach out to us over 1,000 times a day to our professional counselling services, whether that is over the phone, through our live chat platform or our brand new crisis text line."
Lagrove says this is their biggest fundraiser of the year and it is happening right across the Country.
"The Walk So Kids Can Talk fundraiser brings thousands of people together across Canada through 39 locations, it is by far our biggest fundraiser it helps to ensure that our services are always free."
Registration starts at 9am and the walk itself will kick off at 10am.
They will have plenty of fun things set up for the kids at CASS and lunch will be provided by Boston Pizza. You still have time to register beforehand or the day of and you can find out how to do so online here.
