One driver has died following a crash between 2 transport trucks
Update (1:24PM): OPP have identified the trucker who was killed as 51-year-old Dale Boeru of Kitchener. The investigation is ongoing.
Update at 9:15 am: OPP have reopened the 401 eastbound from Drumbo Road to Cedar Creek Road however the far right lane will remain closed at the crash scene for a diesel spill clean up for a little while longer.
OPP have closed the eastbound 401 at Drumbo Rd due to an overnight fatal crash between two transport trucks.
Police say around 12:30 this morning, the two rigs crashed near Drumbo Road leaving one driver dead and the other suffering non-life threatening injuries. He was taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries.
The eastbound lanes of the highway are closed from Drumbo Road to Cedar Creek Road. Emergency Detour Route (EDR) is in place.
Police are continuing their investigation and have not indicated when the highway is expected to reopen.
