UPDATE: OPP now say Emergency Detour Route is NOT in effect on the Westbound 401. Near whiteout conditions and slippery roads have led to a number of wipe outs on the 401. Several vehicles have slid of the roadway and into the ditch, or guard rails. That includes two transport trucks that have found the ditch on the Westbound 401, between Drumbo and Woodstock. The majority of the traffic problems have occurred in a stretch between Drumbo and Highway 2, Woodstock. OPP Constable Lisa Narancsik tells Heart FM what drivers are dealing with out there. "Zero visibility in some of the stretches, and icy, slippery conditions." The snow squalls look to continue through the afternoon before letting up tonight. Keep it locked on Heart FM for traffic and weather updates.
