Stratford's Tom Patterson is moving to a new location and will be getting some changes.
STRATFORD - A new theatre under construction has the Stratford Festival excited.
The new Tom Patterson Theatre is being built with changes to keep with the times.
Executive Director of the Stratford Festival, Anita Gasfney says the changes are due to viewers wanting to discuss and learn more about the plays.
"What we're adding in this new space is all kinds of patreon spaces in the front of the building for things like pre-show discussions, and post show concerts."
The building will also have broadcasting capabilities for plays and debates.
Gasfney say it's a big project but they are excited for the end product.
"The project is a $70 million construction project. Our campaign goal is $100 million because we want to raise some additional funds to support the activities happening in the theater. We anticipate opening for performances in the spring of 2020."
