Vaccination rates are much higher in Oxford County and St. Thomas than they are in Elgin County.
Southwestern Public Health has reached a vaccination milestone with 80% of the 12+ population now fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
At exactly 80%, SWPH region is on par with the Provincial average of 80.3%. Currently 85.4% of the local 12+ population has had at least one dose, which is also just below the Provincial average of 85.9%.
In the SWPH region, 145,825 people are now fully vaccinated, which is 68.5% of the entire population, including children under the age of 12.
People are more likely to get vaccinated in Oxford County, compared to Elgin. 84.5% of the eligible Oxford County population has gotten at least one dose, compared to just 76.5% in Elgin. St. Thomas has the highest vaccination rate of 89.9%.
