An elderly woman from St. Mary's is in hospital after being hit on her mobility scooter by a pick-up truck. It happened Thursday morning at 10:30, as the woman, from the sidewalk, went to cross Wellington Avenue South on a green light. The 87-year-old woman sustained non-life threatening injuries, and was taken to St. Mary's hospital. The pick-up driver was charged with careless driving. The scooter was towed from the scene.
