A rescue of over a dozen dogs off of a northern Ontario reserve has gone to plan. They're arriving in Oxford County at Hillside Kennels. The nine adult dogs and four, three-week-old puppies were taken of the Kashechewan Reserve, where they were roaming the streets. Tracey Gibson called Heart FM with an update on Friday, saying the animals were in better shape than she expected. She says they will be able to be adopted. "I think they just need maybe a week or two of lots of love. These dogs were running loose without human contact. Even the mother with the four puppies is really sweet, really skinny, but a really nice dog and the puppies are adorable," said Gibson. The dogs were under an order to be shot, if they weren't rescued.
