A man from Woodstock has created a petition to keep the current fireworks bylaw in place with stricter enforcement.
WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock City Council recently passed a motion to create a new by-law that will ban the domestic purchase and lighting of fireworks and a Woodstonian has created a petition to reverse it.
The petition is against the banning and for stricter enforcement of the current firework by-law.
Creator of the petition, Cody Zimmer on community reactions.
"The response has been overwhelmingly good. Everyone agrees people not following the rules sucks. What I found is there's a certain amount of tolerance we all have for each other. For the most part, people don't think fireworks are a big deal, so they're a little confused about why this is happening."
Zimmer has yet to bring a delegation to City Council.
The petition is posted on Change.org. It already has 88 signatures and the link can be found here.
