Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama'at Woodstock is planning to fill an entire U-Haul with food donations and deliver it to Operation Sharing in mid October.
WOODSTOCK - Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama'at Woodstock is holding a massive food drive this month.
They are hoping to fill a U-Haul trailer with all donations going to Operation Sharing in Woodstock. Missionary for London and Woodstock Chapters Musawar Ahmed Bajwa says serving humanity and giving back is a big part of their faith.
"In the Holy Qu'ran, we find a lot of verses that state we should help the community, the people around us. If someone is needy, we have to help them, if someone is hungry, we have to feed them, this is what the motto of a Muslim is."
This year, the community as whole is hurting thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic and the need for donations has never been higher. With this in mind the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamma'at community is hoping to have their biggest food drive yet. They have set up donation bins all across the City. The plan is to fill an entire U-haul and deliver it to Operation Sharing in mid October.
You can drop off your donations right now at the following locations:
- Woodstock City Hall at 500 Dundas St.
- Woodstock Museum at 466 Dundas Street
- The Fire Hall at 1203 Parkinson Road Woodstock
- Woodstock Transit, you can drop off a donation while getting on or off any bus in the City.
Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama'at has been very active in the community doing all kinds of volunteer work with various food drives, clean ups and visiting different hospitals.
