The City of Woodstock will create maps so families can go on their our own Tour of Lights this year and they will be creating an interactive video so you can take in the festivities at home as well.
WOODSTOCK - The Annual Tour of Lights will be a go in the City of Woodstock this year.
Mayor Trevor Birtch says they will not be offering the bus tours this year unfortunately.
"So rather than using the transit buses, we will have maps available, for individuals to go out with their family members and those in their social bubble and do their own tour of lights."
Birtch says they will also be creating a video of the tour this year so people can watch them at home.
"That video will be interactive so people will have the opportunity to select many of the local charities that benefit from the cities generosity and again the COVID pandemic, a lot of us have to look at things differently than we have in the past and the City of Woodstock wants to make sure that everybody has a great holiday season and enjoy the tour of lights. Whether that is sitting at home watching the video and participating with those local non profits, or getting out there in your own personal vehicle as a family with some hot chocolate in hand."
Birtch says the Tour of Lights is one of his favourite holiday traditions.
"I am always so impressed by the creativity that people have on display in the Friendly City and in all different neighbourhoods in the City of Woodstock."
Stay tuned for more details as we get closer to the Christmas season.
