WOODSTOCK - The Oxford County What the Health youth team have planted their annual vegetable garden at the Oxford County Public Health Building.
This is the fourth year that the youth team will be supporting their community with the garden. Locally grown vegetables will be donated to families in need across Oxford County. Youth Engagement Coordinator Michelle Alvey tells Heart FM the kids really enjoy working in the garden.
"They all go away with a little bit more knowledge on growing food and all of the work that it entails and it has been great partnership with the community and having that oppurtunity for taking an active role in giving back to their communities."
She adds tending to the garden will provide youth with an opportunity to learn environmentally friendly and sustainable cultivation practices.
