A person was taken to the hospital with burns on their hand and smoke inhalation after an apartment fire on Hughson Street in Woodstock this morning.
WOODSTOCK - One person was injured after a small apartment fire at 770 Hughson Street in Woodstock this morning.
Fire crews rushed to the scene and were able to extinguish the flames before the fire could spread. It was contained to just the one apartment.
A person inside the home was taken to the hospital with burns on their hand and to be treated for smoke inhalation. The injuries are considered minor in nature.
An investigation into the cause of the blaze is ongoing. Fire official estimate the blaze will cost about $4,000 in damage to the apartment building and about $1,000 of items in the apartment were also destroyed.
