VoterLookup.ca is a new online system to make sure your name is on the voters list for the upcoming municipal election.
OXFORD COUNTY - Ontario's municipal and school board elections are coming up.
A new online service is offered at www.voterlookup.ca to update your voter information and make sure you are on the list ahead of Election Day.
It was launched by the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC), which is responsible for identifying all potential municipal, school board and District Social Services Administration Board electors.
Many people assume that if their name was on the provincial list, then they are automatically on the municipal list as well.
Norwich Township CAO Clerk, Kyle Kruger says that's not the case.
"Even if you were on the electors list provincially for the election that just past, we still strongly suggest that you take advantage of this service and make sure you are on the municipal election list as well."
Kruger says it is simply the easiest way to confirm you are on the list and it helps the entire voting process.
"People can both make sure they are on the voters list for the upcoming municipal election add themselves, change their information and its all there and available in a simple to use way. It certainly helps us to ensure the voters list is going to be more accurate for the upcoming municipal election."
The service is free to use and is a simple way to help streamline voting on October 22nd.
