A mother of three and newer resident to Woodstock has filed for city and county council.
WOODSTOCK -- Christina Atkinson believes that being a newer resident to Woodstock would be a benefit for council.
The mother of three moved here just over a year ago and believes that her new perspective and outlook from a different city would be an asset.
Atkinson has filed for the one of two city and county councillor positions. "I decided to seek high public office to have a degree of influence in enabling changes I feel are desired in government."
When it comes to the priorities and issues for the next four years on both city and county council, Atkinson says she sees "economic challenges, environmental concerns that are altering the global economy and the role of the municipal government in general is being challenged as it takes on greater responsibility."
Atkinson, an active member of the parent council at Central Public School says the interest of the residents and community would be her main focuses if elected. "I bring a strong sense of commitment to the ongoing search for a balance that compliments the interests of our dynamic community. If elected I know I will bring an incredible passion and energy to this position as well."
