The Oxford Attack major bantams narrowly missed advancing to the semi-final losing 39-36 to the Haldimand Huskies from Caledonia in their final round robin game at the Paul Mitchell basketball tournament in Brantford this past weekend. The loss gave the Attack a 1-2 record for the weekend. Joshua Flanagan led the Attack offense with 17 points. Derric Pollock added seven and Ben Mott had five in the loss. Earlier in the day the Attack defeated Brantford 46-42 despite being down by seven points at halftime. Chris Cottrell led the Attack comeback by hitting three 3-point shots on consecutive possessions early in the third quarter and finished the game with 15 points. Flanagan added 11 in the win. On Friday night the Attack were beaten by the Niagara Thunder 42-32. The Attack shared the ball efficiently throughout the game as 10 different players registered points. Pollock had eight and Flanagan six in the loss. The Attack player of the tournament was Derric Pollock who aggressively rebounded in the offensive end all weekend against bigger players. Next up for the major bantams is a tournament in Cambridge in two weeks.
