The Baby Alex Teddy Bear Drive is happening right now at Time to Chill in Woodstock.
WOODSTOCK - Time To Chill is ready to support the 8th Annual Baby Alex Teddy Bear Drive.
Alexander Fleming was 4 months old when he died of his injuries after a car he was in was hit by an impaired driver. Owner of Time To Chill, Sandra Pereira explains what Alex's mom, Mary Rodriques does with the teddy bears that our donated.
"Mary will make up little gift baskets and she will donate it to the hospital in Woodstock and also the hospital where Alex was taken in London and she just does little care packages, so it's not necessarily just for children, it can also be for older people which is why we also collect toiletries to go in the gift baskets."
Last year they raised 246 items for the baskets, including the teddy bears, soaps and other toiletry items. They are hoping to top that number this year. You can drop your donations off to Time to Chill on Springbank Ave starting today and the drive lasts until the end of the month.
