You could get a $10 gift card to the Olde Bakery Cafe if you sign up for a virtual Murder Mystery or Escape Room, all while supporting BBBS of Oxford County.
OXFORD COUNTY - Still time to sign up for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Oxford County's Play for Kids Sake.
They are offering several ways to participate this year. Obviously we can't go bowling or curling but they have managed to come up with some really fun and creative ways to connect with friends and family.
You can sign up a team of 6 or 8 for a virtual murder mystery. Once you have your team signed up, you will be provided with a list of 8 characters to choose from. You will have a host who will guide you through at 1980's style prom. Someone is going to be murdered at the Prom and it will be up to you to solve the mystery. The event is done through Zoom, so you will be able to see everyone and connect that way.
Resource Development Manager Liz Wismer Van-Meer says remember it's the 80's and they will have prizes for the best dressed team.
"Have some fun with that, it's virtual, so you can get dressed up at your house, you are going to be able to see everybody and interact with everybody and the team that has the best 80's get-up will also get a prize from that."
The other really cool event they are offering this year is a virtual Escape room. Gather up some of your friends and family and you will compete against other teams to see who can get out of the room the fastest. Wismer Van-Meer says the Escape Room is going to put you up against a number of different teams.
"The teams will breakout into their own rooms through Zoom and they have a host that is there to answer questions to get you started and they will look to see which team can escape the room the fastest overall and we will have prizes for the winners."
Both the Murder Mystery and Escape Room require teams of 6-8 and you must raise a minimum of $30 for BBBS Oxford County. Right now they have a special drive going on. So if you sign up before the end of the day Monday, you will be entered into a draw will get a $10 gift certificate from the Olde Bakery Cafe.
They have plenty of dates to choose from for the Escape Room and Murder Mystery throughout the month of February and into March.
BBBS also has online bowling and curling games that you can participate in with prizes for the winners and of course they would also really appreciate if you just wanted to donate. You can find more information about all of the cool, interactive and fun ways to raise funds for BBBS Oxford this month online here.
Check out Chris McMillan's interview with Liz Wismer Van-Meer below. Chris has signed up his family, who he hasn't seen since the Fall for the murder mystery and is pretty excited about it.
