Big Brothers Big Sisters of Oxford County would like to raise $5,000 today in honour of Giving Tuesday.
OXFORD COUNTY - Big Brothers Big Sisters of Oxford County (BBBOC) has launched its Holiday Giving Campaign.
Fund Development Manager Nicole Killaire says they're looking to start things off on the right foot.
"We actually had a very generous donation from Mary Ellen and Harvey Hunt of $5,000 to kick off our campaign this year. So what we are looking to do today on Giving Tuesday is match their $5,000."
Killaire says they have a fun way to keep track of all the donations that come in.
"Keep an eye on our social media today! We will have a little snowman up there that we will be filling with snow as we work towards that $5,000."
You can donate to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Oxford County online here.
Manager of Communications Liz Wismer Van-Meer says they're encouraging everyone to give the Gift of Guidance this holiday season.
“You can apply to become a mentor, or share our need for volunteer mentors with your family, friends, and colleagues. If you know someone who would be a wonderful mentor, encourage them to reach out to BBBSOC and learn more about being a mentor in Oxford County. Or make a monetary donation to Ignite Potential and create a life-changing opportunity for a young person in your community.”
