CAMI Automotive donated over $562,000 to The United Way of Oxford and United Way of London-Middlesex
OXFORD COUNTY - It was a big day for United Way Oxford.
CAMI Automotive in Ingersoll made their annual donation and while it may not have been the biggest, it will still greatly assist the campaign by the Oxford County Branch. Co-Chair for the United Way Committee at CAMI, Susan McCallum, explains how much they were able to collect. "We announced that we were able to raise here at CAMI $562,647."
The funds raised will be split between United Way Oxford and London Middlesex. Executive Director with United Way of Oxford, Kelly Gilson, says they always have great support for this cause. "CAMI was spectacular this morning! They did an amazing job, they really use it use as an opportunity to celebrate the hard work of everyone, the contributions of everyone, so they have a lot of fun with it. They certainly know how to support community, they believe in community, and they certainly show it year after year."
McCallum spoke to Heart FM about what this says about employees at the automotive manufacturing plant. "I think last year was a bit larger but not by much. I would just like to thank everyone here at CAMI for their generosity and for the fact that they all work hard to make improvements in these two communities." Over $573,000 was brought in last year and the money raised for 2015 will hopefully help Oxford County reach its 1.2 million goal.
