Water and wastewater billing for the Friendly City will now be done through ERTH Solutions.
WOODSTOCK - Starting in February residents of Woodstock will no longer be getting their water bills from Woodstock Hydro.
Director of Public Works Robert Walton says the company already handling billing in Ingersoll and the surrounding areas will now be serving the Friendly City as well. "Starting in February 2016 residents of Woodstock will be receiving a bill for water and wastewater through ERTH solutions on behalf of the county. This was previously done by Woodstock Hydro, and now residents will receive a bill for electricity from Woodstock Hydro and a bill for water and wastewater from ERTH Solutions."
Rates aren't expected to change due to this administrative change. "There is no change in the rate caused by that. There is an administrative change only," Walton assures Heart FM. "There will be, starting January 1st, the 2016 rates passed by county council in 2013 will come into play, but they will not change because of this administrative change."
Any residents who were using a pre-authorized payment method with Woodstock Hydro will need to contact ERTH Solutions to make sure there isn't a billing disruption according to Walton. "Because of the Freedom of Information, this information just can't freely be passed from one corporation to another. So people who are on pre-authorized payment or electronic billing will need to be contacting ERTH to set that up. And that can be done now electronically and starting in January there will be a number for people to call who don't want to do it electronically."
