It's Black Friday and the Oxford OPP has some tips for the shoppers looking for deals.
OXFORD COUNTY - It's one of the biggest holiday shopping days of the year.
It's Black Friday, so lots of stores will have special deals going on in hopes of attracting customers.
Randi Crawford, the Community Safety and Media Relations officer with the Oxford OPP, says drivers should be extra vigilant because shoppers can get pretty excited and even aggressive while driving to the different stores.
"We want to be kind and we want to be patient, so just take your time and be smart when you're driving around on the roadways and in the parking lots."
She also has this piece of advice for after you make your purchases.
"When you do get those great deals, you want to make sure you're not displaying them in your vehicle. If you can have them in the trunk, have them covered, or even have a couple different stops at home so you don't have a trunk full of things. You should also make sure your vehicle is locked so no one can take those items that you just successfully purchased."
Black Friday always falls on the Friday after American Thanksgiving. It's followed by Small Business Saturday, Cyber Monday and Giving Tuesday.
#OxfordOPP would like to remind everyone in @OxfordCounty to not keep valuables in your vehicles while shopping this holiday season. If possible make trips home to unload your parcels safely. If you do have to keep your items in your vehicle please keep them out of site and lock… pic.twitter.com/xRy6xLsdqw
