UPDATE (May 2nd @ 5:20 a.m.) - Southwestern Public Health has lifted the boil water advisory for Plattsville, but not for Ingersoll or Mount Elgin.
---
INGERSOLL - A third boil water advisory has been issued for Oxford County.
Southwestern Public Health says the latest one is for those using the municipal water supply in Ingersoll. A Medical Officer of Health recently collected some samples that indicate a possible presence of bacteria in the water.
The health unit also issued a boil water advisory for Mount Elgin last night and for the northeast corner of Plattsville yesterday afternoon.
If you live in any of the affected areas, it's recommended that you boil your water for at least a minute before consuming it in any way. This means not only when you decide to drink it or use it to make juice, infant formula or ice, but also when you decide to wash food and brush your teeth.
