The OPP Response Bomb unit detonated a suspicious package in Woodstock on Sunday afternoon.
WOODSTOCK - The OPP Response Bomb unit was called into Woodstock after police found a suspicious pacakage in the area of Juliana Drive and Mill Street.
Details are scarce at this point and we can tell you the bomb unit used their robot to detonate the package yesterday afternoon around 12:30. The Woodstock Fire Department and the Ontario Provincial Response Bomb unit cleared the area to detonate the package.
It was not a bomb and turned out to be discarded abandoned items. Area residents were displaced from their homes for several hours due to the nature of the investigation.
We will provide you with more information when it becomes available.
