The County of Brant has approved the appointment of six new members of the Downtown Paris Business Improvement Board of Management.
PARIS - The County of Brant has approved the appointment of six new members of the Downtown Paris Business Improvement Board of Management.
The board was elected in early July and will serve until January 31, 2023.
The board includes:
- Susan Serre, The Hollow Willow Health Store (Chair);
- Sherian Groppini, From the Attic Interiors (Vice Chair);
- Laurie Brain, Baby B Home (Board Member);
- Jeanette Janzen, Dog-Eared Café (Board Member);
- Penny Ritchie, Pennylane Dermal Solutions (Board Member); and
- Katherine Pickering, The Paris Bohemian Gallery (Board Member)
- Ward 3 Councillor John Bell (Council Representative)
Chair of the Board of Management Susan Serre says the BIA works to maintain a dynamic downtown.
"We have an enthusiastic and diverse group of professionals who make up our newly elected board. I am confident that, together, we can successfully navigate post-COVID and implement a plan that supports and promotes our new and existing downtown businesses. We look forward to working closely with the County of Brant as changes continue within the downtown community."
Director of Economic Development and Tourism Russell Press says a vibrant downtown enhances the local economy and quality of life.
“A healthy and vibrant downtown reflects positively on the health and vitality of the entire community. We look forward to working with the new downtown Paris BIA Board of Management on a number of initiatives including helping locals and visitors safely return to the downtown through the RSVP Safe Visitation Program. As well, we will work closely with the BIA on longer term objectives such as the Downtown Paris Master Plan.”
