BRANT COUNTY - The County of Brant is offering an online candidate information workshop.
It's happening April 25, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. This workshop will provide information to anyone running as a candidate, working on a campaign team or registering as a Third-Party Advertiser in the 2022 Municipal / School Board Election.
Presentations will be made by County of Brant and Ministry of Municipal Affairs staff. You do need to meet the following criteria to run for office:
- Candidates must be a resident of the municipality or a non-resident owner or tenant of land in the municipality or the spouse of such non-resident owner or tenant;
- A Canadian citizen and at least 18 years old;
- Not legally prohibited from voting; and not disqualified by any legislation from holding municipal office.
- You will need to submit a nomination form and an endorsement of nomination form that includes 25 signatures. You must also submit a declaration of qualifications and must pay a fee of $100 ($200 for mayor).
Potential candidates can file nomination papers starting on May 2. The election is happening on October 24.
