Brant Fire Department reminds the public that smoke and carbon monoxide detectors save lives
The Brant County Fire Department is reminding everyont to make sure you have working smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.
Firefighters recently charged a homeowner in Brant County for not meeting the proper requirements. Brant Chief Michael Seth says working alarms can be the difference between life and death.
"Not having working smoke and CO alarms to give people the extra warning time in the event of an emergency is inexcusable. Working smoke and CO alarms, along with a practiced escape plan, are essential to ensure people are able to survive a fire."
The Ontario Fire code requires working smoke alarms on every level and working CO alarms outside of all sleeping areas.
