Police say they arrested a suspicious man on Thursday morning who was carrying a prohibited weapon and wearing a kevlar vest and a jacket with a Police Service Patch.
WOODSTOCK - Woodstock Police arrested a 51 year old man from Brantford for impersonating a police officer.
Officers were responding to a call on Huron Street yesterday morning about a suspicious man in a white van. When officers tried to pull the van over, he tried to get away at a high rate of speed.
The man was eventually stopped at a dead end. He was found to be in possession of a prohibited weapon, police issued kevlar vest and a jacket with a Police Service Patch.
The 51 year old was arrested and charged with the following:
- Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Probation Order
- Personating Peace officer (badge, using uniform, or equipment)
- Failure to Comply with Undertaking x2
- Common Nuisance – Endanger Life
- Flight from Peace Officer
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order x2
- Carry Concealed Prohibited Device or Ammunition
- Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition
