An Ontario food company is recalling some beef burgers amid fears that they may be contaminated with E. coli. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says the Best Value burgers come in 10 and 20-burger packages. They've been distributed to Giant Tiger and Northern Canada retail stores across the country, with the exception of the Maritimes. Food contaminated with E. coli may not look or smell spoiled, but eating it may cause serious illness. A second recall has also been issued this morning for Cheetos. People with allergies to milk or soy are being urged to avoid eating some Frito Lay Cheetos products because the milk and soy is not declared on the label. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says the affected products are the BBQ flavour Cheetos in a red bag and the hot flavour variety in a black bag. The BBQ brand has a UPC code of 8-801062-289936 and the hot flavour brand, also in an 88-gram bag, bears a UPC code of 8-801062-380015. The CFIA says the made-in-Korea product have been distributed in Ontario and Manitoba. There are no reported allergic reactions associated with eating these products. The importer, PK Trading Inc., of Mississauga, is voluntarily recalling the affected products and the CFIA is monitoring the recall.
