A couple of people rushed into the water to pull the man out and perform CPR, however he didn't make it.
INNERKIP - A 58 year old from Cambridge has died after drowning in the Trout Lake Quarry in Innerkip yesterday around 12:45 pm.
Witnesses called police after watching the man enter the water from the shoreline and then starting to struggle. A couple of people rushed into to the water to pull the man out and started doing CPR after hearing his calls for help.
The man was taken to the hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. He has been identified as Jorg Meinzer of Cambridge.
A post mortem examination has been scheduled for today.
