The 2016 Canterbury Folk Festival will run from Friday July 8th until Sunday July 10th in Ingersoll.
INGERSOLL - Get ready to rock, the Canterbury folk festival is back.
Friday night they will host a Swine and Wine dinner and will end off the night with musical performances.
Stages will be full of entertainment from Friday July, 8th until the Sunday.
Ingersoll Mayor, Ted Comisky tells us about the event.
"It has a great pork dinner, it is only $12 and it certainly helps out the festival. Starting after that is our Friday night concert series that goes until 11 that night. In the morning, we start again at 10:30 where we have six stages going at the same time."
Comisky says the event costs around $100,000 for the weekend but there is no admission for the public.
"We certainly call upon anyone who would like to help out with any forms of contributions, that is terrific. There is no one on our directors or volunteers that are paid in anyway shape or form, it is volunteer. It is completely free for the public. I hope it always remains that way."
Comisky says they have a waste management goal for the concert.
"This year we are trying to go to zero waste. I am asking everyone out there what garage you bring in, make sure it goes home with you and make sure it gets recycled. If it is recyclable we will have places in the park to do so."
Thames Street will be closed down for room for the extra stages.
