Oxford OPP charged 3 people with careless driving for using the shoulder during a traffic jam today on the 401.
BLANDFORD-BLENHEIM - Police charged several people with careless driving for driving on the shoulder today in Oxford County.
Traffic was at a stand still on the 401 eastbound lanes after a fatal crash near Cedar Creek Road in Cambridge. It was backed all the way up to Oxford Road 3 in Blandford Blenheim.
Police caught three drivers using the shoulder during this stand still between Oxford Road 29 and Trussler Road. All three were charged with careless driving as a result of their dangerous actions during this traffic back up.
OPP continue to monitor the traffic in the area. OPP are asking motorists in the area to avoid Highway 401 eastbound past Woodstock area until the Highway re-opens in Cambridge area.
OPP remind the motoring public that they must drive according to the rules of the road and exercise patience when required.
