The Unifor Hall is hosting the Children's Aid Society's inaugural dinner at the end of the month.
WOODSTOCK - The Children's Aid Society of Oxford County will hold their first Dinner & Show fundraiser.
The event will raise money for children and youth across the County with opportunities in the arts, sports and music.
Coordinator of Development of CAS Ron Archer says the funds will be able provide some extra help to those less fortunate.
"The proceeds go to support children and youth in Oxford County with opportunities in arts, sports and music and otherwise that would not be able to participate, so for a guitar or music lessons or dance. It's kind of like what Jumpstart does with Canadian Tire only this maybe picks up stuff that they don't cover or a little extra help."
The fundraiser will feature a carved roast beef dinner at 1:00pm, catered by Huron Shores, before a live performance from country rock band Ridin' High at 2:30pm. It will take place at the Unifor Hall in Woodstock.
Archer says if it's a successful event, they may hold it more often.
"We're hoping to sell out. We have, I believe it's 195 we're allowed to put in the Union Hall, so we're hoping to sell out. And then maybe we'll do a couple of these a year, if it works out."
Tickets are $65.00 each and you will get a $30 charitable tax receipt from the CAS. They can be picked up at the CAS office, or you can contact Ron Archer at 519-521-7833 or Noelle 1-800-250-7010 ext. 318.
If you're interested in donating, you can find a funding application online or at reception.
The event goes on May 26th and the doors open at 12:00pm.
