Today marks International Women's Day and groups worldwide will be celebrating in a number of ways. Locally, the Zonta Club of Woodstock are hosting their annual breakfast this morning at the Quality Hotel and Suites. Guest speaker Sandy Cimoroni, President of TD Mutual Funds will speak to the crowd on "Inspiring Women, Inspiring Futures". Later today, a celebration for and about women is being held at the CAW Hall in Woodstock. The free event includes a complimentary lunch, door prizes, Artisan Market Place, presentations and more. Doors open at 11:30 this morning and the first 100 women to arrive will receive a free "goody" bag. The event is planned and hosted by the IWD Planning Committee with members from Ingamo Family Homes, Domestic Abuse Services Oxford, Family Violence Counselling Program, Oxford County Public Health Department, Children?s Aid Society of Oxford County, Woodstock & Area Community Health Centre and the Oxford Domestic Assault Review Team (Oxford DART). The group also receives ?support from ?"Survivors ?Voices ?Oxford".? Details for today's celebration are on our community events page.
