Woodstock's Community Health Centre is getting ready to move. The CHC will be moving this summer into the newly refurbished former post office building on Peel St. in Woodstock. Executive Director Cate Melito says they go from 5 to 9 exam rooms, and four counseling rooms. "Our preparations will be limited to packing up and moving. We very much look forward to being able to move into the new facility and take advantage of double the space by mid-summer." The CHC opened in the spring of 2010, and has built up a patient roster of 1200 in the community. The CHC tends to health needs of those underserviced including seniors, youth and low income families. Melito says, "We've made some very good beginnings in the area of providing nutritional and mental health programing. I think its really helped to serve people in the community and to reduce the burden on other services such as the emergency department."
