As public library week wraps up, it is the perfect time to check out some of the amazing programs and services offered by the Woodstock Public Library.
WOODSTOCK - The Woodstock Public Library has been spending the week raising awareness about the valuable role libraries play in their communities.
Library week wraps up on Sunday and this year's theme was: One card, endless possibilities! Manager of Public Services Darlene Pretty says libraries are a crucial part of every community and that is especially true in a pandemic.
“This year especially, libraries remain a resilient haven of normalcy providing the comfort of reading, an unlimited source of information, and opportunities to safely interact virtually with others.”
The WPL has increased its cloudLibrary ebook and eaudio holdings by over 100,000 titles making it easier and faster to get that bestseller you want to read. The library continues to offer extensive virtual programming for children, teens and adults.
Enjoy a Zoom story time with your baby or toddler, or explore stories with your preschooler. Join the Little Reader’s book club and virtually track your progress towards reading 1000 books before Kindergarten with your child.
For teens, attend the monthly Zoom book club, or take a virtual Brain Break. Many of the traditional adult offerings have gone virtual. You can still attend an afternoon or evening monthly book club, enjoy a monthly pub trivia challenge, an adult craft program, and starting in November, virtual Write-ins on Monday evenings.
Visit our their web site at www.mywpl.ca to register for any of our programs and all are free of charge.
Need help with your phone or tablet? Phone the library at 519-539-4801 to register for an in-library tech tutorial with a librarian.
